Forget-Me-Not

The disabled serviceman is asking for nothing more than a fair chance to make his own way in the world. He doesn’t particularly want tears, and he is not demanding huge appropriations from the public treasury. What he does want is the kind of sympathetic understanding and the active support that will make it easier for him to resume his place, in spite of his physical handicap, as a regular member of society. That is not too much to ask, and it is assuredly the very least that we can give.
- Bruce Catton, Pulitzer Prize Winning American Historian
